Environmental protection and recreation in harmony - Gut Rehrhof as a role mode

More and more people are endeavouring to make their contribution to environmental protection, whether on a small or large scale. The reduction of CO2 emissions is often the focus of attention. Be it by switching to a plant-based diet, prioritising cycling routes or consciously switching off electronic devices at the weekend - there are numerous approaches. However, some people put their convictions into practice without really talking about them because they take it for granted. A prime example of this is the Rehrhof estate near Amelinghausen.

Although the Rehrhof estate was first mentioned in writing in 1326, the term "old" seems inappropriate in this context. Instead, the atmosphere is a harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity. The listed ensemble of red-stone houses and buildings, once characteristic of the heathland, awaits visitors. This is the ideal place for a family holiday with horses or simply to relax and enjoy the breathtaking natural surroundings.

However, the Rehrhof estate is more than just an oasis of peace. The extensive woodland and heathland areas are a natural paradise that has been owned and managed by the Vogt family for many generations. Maintaining these areas not only requires a considerable amount of labour and time, but also helps to save CO2. Plants process the gas and produce new oxygen at the same time.

Through the Vogt family's sustainable commitment to the forest and heathland surrounding Gut Rehrhof, they are actively helping to ensure that we can all enjoy nature - even if we are not staying at Gut Rehrhof as guests. Gut Rehrhof thus serves not only as a retreat, but also as a shining example of how environmental protection and recreation can be harmoniously combined.

In co-operation with the agency "Wald & Thal", I had the pleasure of capturing the impressions of this enchanting place for the new website. Together with the Vogt family, I spent a few wonderful days photographing the holiday farm and the surrounding landscape.
